Answer the following questions to find out about the judge and prophet Deborah found in Judges, chapters 1-3.

1. Look at the Bible timeline and see when the Judges led the Israelites. (Bible Timeline)

2. Before the Judges ruled, Joshua led the Israelites to conquer the promised land. When Joshua died, what two thing happened. Judges 1:27-36 and 2:1-4

3. What happened first? (Judges 1:27,30,34) Results? Judges 2:2-4

4. What happened next? (Judges 2:10) Results? Judges 2:11-15

5. What parallels do you see between the Israelites' behavior and why some Christians stop growing in their relationship with Christ?

6. Think about the differences between younger Christians (under 60) and older ones (over 60). When the older Christians die, will the Church (the Body of Christ)loose positive qualities? What quality of older Christians that you would like do in your life?

7. After Israel started worshipping other gods, what pattern of behavior developed? Judges 2:14-16,18-19

8. God's discipline is something we don't enjoy talking about. But look only at your own life. Have you ever been on a spiritual merry-go-round of repeated sin? How did you finally overcome the cycle, or what your you doing to break it?

9. Before Deborah becomes a Judge-Delieverer, three other men fill the position. Who are they?

10. Deborah comes onto the scene in Judges 4. What is conspicuously different? Idea about why there was a change?
