Bible Study 5:
New Testament Prayers, Page 1
Bible

Compiling this list of New Testament prayers challenged me as I copied what people requested of God while under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. They also became a prayer resource. When I don't know how to pray or am seeking to ask God to grow myself or someone else spiritually, these prayers give me words. They also make wonderful additions to any "I'm praying for you" card or e-mail. (Quoted in New King James)

  1. Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy servant Jesus. Acts 4:29-30

  2. Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer for Israel is that they may be saved. Romans 10:1

  3. Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 15:5-6

  4. Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:5-6

  5. Now I beg you, brethren, through the Lord Jesus Christ, and through the love of the Spirit, that you strive together with me in prayers of God for me, that I may be delivered from those in Judea who do not believe, and that my service for Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints, that I may come to you with joy by the will of God, and may be refreshed together with you. Now the God of peace be with you all. Romans 15:30-33

  6. Now I pray to God that you do no evil, not that we should appear approved, but that you should do what is honorable, though we may seem disqualified. 2 Corinthians 13:7

  7. That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power.
    Ephesians 1:16-19
